The significant contribution of the paper is introducing wireless sensor networks into the design of the spectrum monitoring system. A spectrum monitoring oriented private network architecture is designed to realize the networked spectrum monitoring, and make the multi-node cooperation possible. So far, our system has covered the old and new campus of Xidian University, the forth telecom science institute, and other test regions, and continuously operated for two years. Under the monitoring band with 20MHz-8GHz, the system can achieve integrated comprehensive signal processing and intelligent analysis including signal detection, modulation recognition and location-tracking.
