As the trends, it is widely believed that ITS is no longer a simple standalone application in the vehicle. How to provide a convenient and flexibility mechanism to integrate multiple applications seamlessly has became an urgent issue. In this paper, we propose a SOAP-based IPv6 Middleware platform to establish a unified framework which can easily integrate all the services or messages provided by different ITS applications or devices. The proposed Middleware is composed of four major parts: communication management, device management, object management and data management. However, it involves many different domain knowledge and techniques in practical implementation. In this paper we are primarily concerned with one of the key techniques when build up this middleware, namely SOAPv6 (Simple Object Access Protocol over IPv6).
