Therefore, transient performance of turbofan engines has to be considered when designing the engine. A setup for the experimental irivestigation of transient performance and unsteady flow phenomena on a turbofan engine is presented. A procedure for measuring transient pressures with conventional pressure probes is established as well as a method for measuring unsteady temperatures with thermocouples. Ikliniature pressure transducers are incorporated in the: compressors of the engine in order to detect very fast pressure changes. A complex computer system for means of engine control, monitoring and high speed data acquisition was built up.
