The resultant nonlinearity and dispersion profile of this fiber pair has a rectangular pattern and when a number of such fiber units are cascaded the overall nonlinearity and dispersion profile look like a comb. These cascaded fiber units form a rectangular comb-like dispersion and nonlinearity profiled (RCDNP) fiber.
