A compact wideband‰45°dual-polarized antenna for lte base stations applications
A compact wideband dual-polarized antenna for LTE base stations is proposed in this paper. Two crossed dipoles are excited by microstrip stubs that are directly fed by two coaxial lines, making the antenna full planar. The width of gap between two pairs of dipoles increases gradually from the center to the edge of the antenna, which improves the impedance characteristic and hence miniaturizes the size of the antennato 45×45mm2. The dual-polarized antenna realizes a wideband impedance bandwidth from 1.7–2.7GHz for return loss >15dB and the isolation of two ports more than 25dB.A stable half-power beamwidth (HPBW) of around 65°on horizontal plane and an average gain of 8.4dBi for slant ±45° polarizations is achieved. In addition, a four-element antenna array is developed.
