Multi-Stage Topology with MPC Control for Grid-Tied PV Applications
In this study, an improved DC/DC/AC structure for integrating photovoltaic systems into power grid is presented. In the most photovoltaic systems, power transformers are used in order to provide galvanic isolation between power system and PV cell. Regardless of the fact that leakage current may flow through the capacitance between the PV panel and the ground. In Some structures, an isolated DC/DC converter with high frequency transformer based on multi-level inverters are being used. The proposed topology is capable to create a 9-level output voltage. As control strategy, model predictive control (MPC) technique is used in proposed topology. Also, the presented structure is simulated in PSCAD/EMTDC to validate the theoretical calculation.
