This paper explores the impact of DER on distribution Volt/VAr optimization (VVO). Presented is a novel method of coordinating on-load tapchanger (OLTC) to line capacitor (CAP) banks and active VAr regulating distributed energy resource (DER). OLTC controls are used on power transformers and station/line regulators.
