This study examines the critical discourse analysis proposed by Van Dijk. The data is taken from online news texts reported by CNN Indonesia with a focus on the Reynhard Sinaga case. The data is taken as many as six news stories with different headlines. The results of the study found that CNN Indonesia in reporting news is informative and factual without taking sides with any party. Five of the six news stories have the same topic.
