Multi-antenna diversity demonstration via Alamouti scheme on USRP boards
With the passage of time the speed of the computer processors is getting faster and theoretical concept of Software-Defined Radio (SDR) is now a practical reality. Universal software Radio peripheral (USRP) is a commercially available SDR platform from ettus research. This can be interfaced easily with various software developmental prototyping platform such as MATLAB and GNU Radio. In this project we have implemented well known transmit diversity scheme known as Alamouti for MIMO systems for the transmission and reception of data. Alamouti scheme allows the same data to be transmitted through multiple paths due to which if the data being transmitted encounters deep fades and is lost in its way it can be received through the other path. Complete design is made on MATLAB and GNU Radio.
