Scientific Literature Review on Microscopic Vehicle Parking Modelling
This document was made to shed light on various scientific research dealing with parking problems associated with the imbalance between the supply and demand of urban parking spaces as well as negative externalities caused by illegal different choice of parking, From the point of view of microscopic modeling that consider the movement behavior of each car individually. To reach this purpose we systematically searched the various scientific studies indexed in the main scientific journals submitted during the last years, between 2010 and 2019, which focuses primarily on microscopic parking modelling, 20 articles met the inclusion criteria were synthesized in the form of a summary tables and classified according to 3 criteria: models that address the demand for parking and supply-demand balance, models that estimate the impact of different parking modes in the generation of negative externalities and finally the models that investigate the relationship between parking behavior and decision-making, thus, the table provide several information related to the model as: Discipline, Model Name, Year, Objective, Tool or Approach used and the Source. As a result this comprehensive review of the scientific literature in the recent years will allow us to situate our subject in relation to previous research in this field and provide a unique niche to our research as well as identify the aspects that require more research and ask specific questions about what can be added in the future to remedy parking problems.
