Abstract
Most farmers worldwide are owner-operators in various forms. The essence of this is that a farm family is intimately involved in farm life and decisions, with the farmer and his or her family living and working on the farm. Consequently any study of a farmer must also involve a study of the family and their influence on the objectives and decisions taken.
