A brief analysis on innovation of ‘form, meaning, momentum’ of folk patterns in modern design

This article discussed the application and innovation of folk patterns in modern design by studying them from different levels and angles. We try to obtain the artistry and originality of folk patterns by extraction and derivation of ‘forms’ among folk patterns in order to achieve the artistic impress on by forms. The expression of meaning is not only the main point of folk patterns, but also the most important way to deliver the cultural connotation. Meanwhile, the emphasis on studying folk patterns is on the ‘momentum’ which is a kind of internal strength among folk patterns and determines the folk patterns' vitality and the range of art.
