India has rich rural youth potential. The population of rural youth in developmental activities contribute to national development. Several studies confirm that there exist shifting patterns in the occupation of rural youth from agriculture to other nonfarm activities. A study was taken up “To measure the impact of the shift from agriculture to other nonfarm occupation in Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu”. Hence, in this study an analysis was made in Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu with 120 sample rural youth respondents.
