Programme for the Prevention of Blindness. This scheme has been field-tested in several countries, and the results have demonstrated a good observer agreement. The development of training aids for the use of this scheme by non-specialist health personnel is in progress. This will include a slide series, two manuals for the clinical examination and for the analysis of the reliability of results obtained, plus a simple trachoma grading card for field staff.
