This scheme is introduced in compliance with the current trend of environment-friendly hybrid power generation. Wind energy, solar energy and fuel cells are all potential renewable green sources of energy. The hybrid scheme comprises those three sources of energy in the form of a wind turbine-induction generator assembly, photovoltaic array and a fuel cell (hydrogen). The system is validated with the proposed novel controllers and under load and renewable sources excursions and sudden changes in the photovoltaic array characteristics due to variations in air temperature and solar irradiation. Three key controllers are proposed: thyristor bridge α-firing angle controller, permanent magnet dc motor dynamic speed controller and a novel dc-bus Green-Plug Modulated Power Filter (GPMPF) controller.
