Science Program of Colleges and Universities of Bohol
Schools and institutions largely differ in the coverage of contents taught because of the teacher’s preparation and background. Thus, this study was conducted to evaluate the science program of the colleges and universities in Bohol to determine their compliance with the CHED Memorandum Order Standards (CMO).  Utilizing descriptive design, the study collected data by ocular inspection and use of checklist of laboratory facilities and equipment. Observation of classes by the researcher and external evaluators were big parts of the study.  Findings showed that laboratory facilities were below compliance based on the CHED standards. Moreover, there were no significant gaps between the existing science curriculum and CHED standards generally speaking. Biology, Chemistry, and Physics were below compliance based on CMO standards. Higher Educational Institutions in Bohol were comparable based on their compliance with CMO standards. Therefore, schools need periodic evaluation to monitor the school’s compliance in the CMO standards. Moreover, laboratory facilities need improvement to continually improve quality of instruction and eventually produce competitive and professional graduates. Keywords - Science Programs, Colleges and Universities, CMO Standards, Quantitative Qualitative Analysis, Philippines
