Due to frequent speed alteration of electrical 3-phase induction motors by the automatic loop controller, rotating elements such as bearings are often responsible to generate faults. The proposed system works along with the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system as used for the automatic control of the process. The fault discrimination works on the basis of vibration amplitudes measured through piezoelectric accelerometer. From the experiment with various faulty and healthy bearings, it has been observed that, the fault discrimination becomes possible, at certain operating conditions.
