While secondary data were collected from existing literature on social networking sites and deviant behavior. The study found that majority of the respondents were aware about the use of social networking sites to carry out deviant activities. However, the considerable number of respondents believed that they spent 1-12 hours in social networking sites engaged in deviant behaviors. The study further revealed that majority of the respondents believed that black mailing, sending of unethical, images, videos, abusive language and harassment are the most prevalence deviant behaviors carried out through social networking sites. 摘要

本研究调查尼日利亚约贝州达马图鲁市青少年的社交网站与越轨行为。本研究采用调查方法,同时使用一手和二手数据来源;初步调查是通过封闭式问题的结构化问卷进行的。而二手数据则是从现有的关于社交网站和越轨行为的文献中收集的。研究发现,大多数受访者都知道利用社交网站进行越轨活动。然而,相当多的受访者认为他们在社交网站上花费了1-12个小时从事越轨行为。研究进一步显示,大多数受访者认为,黑色邮件、发送不道德的图片、视频、辱骂语言和骚扰是通过社交网站进行的最普遍的越轨行为。本研究建议互联网服务提供者应在控制和监控社交网站的越轨行为方面发挥重要作用,并创造更多的就业/赋权机会,以帮助减少青少年的社交网站越轨行为。
