Methodology: An evaluation of the nurse midwives' infection control precautions in the maternal surgical wards of the Al-Najaf Al-Shraf City Hospitals was done using a descriptive cross-sectional approach. The study was carried out between November 1st, 2021, and March 13th, 2022. The frequency, percentages, mean, and SD of the data were all analyzed using the 25th version of SPSS. Results: Most of the nurse midwives' subgroups were those with ages ranging between 20-30 years (62%); those who are secondary midwifery school (60%); those that who lived in urban areas (91%) and those who are married (68%). Hand Hygiene and Gowns or Aprons showed moderate and Personal Protective Equipment, Prevention of sharp injuries, Contamination with blood/ body fluids, Waste Management and Environment has poor control mesures. Conclusion: Majority of midwives working in maternal wards, curettage rooms, and delivery rooms had fewer than 10 years of experience.
