Evaluation of antitumor and antioxidant activity of Curcuma Caesia Roxib for targeting cancer apoptosis
Background: Curcuma caesia roxib is popularly known as “kali haldi” in the Indian Subcontinent, with evidence of therapeutic approaches on pre-malignant disorders and cancer cell apoptosis. Objective: This study aims to determine the clinical effects of curcuma caesia roxib in different types of malignant and potentially malignant disorders using a systematic review approach. Methods: A systematic review methodology is a complete analysis of the effects of curcumin caesia in oral potentially malignant disorders. Results presented in this paper are a collaboration of the findings selected from articles published in databases including Google Scholar, Science Direct, Scopus, PubMed, and Web of Science. These databases were thoroughly searched and relevant publications were shortlisted based on applicable keywords in accordance with the study’s aim. Results: The results are derived based on several clinical studies on curcuma caesia roxib consumption with anticancer drugs, highlighting that kali haldi containing curcumin enhances the effectiveness of cancer management resulting in the betterment of patient’s condition and increases the survival time along with reducing their side effects. Conclusion: This comprehensive systematic review confirms that curcumin present in curcuma caesia roxib minimizes the side effects of chemotherapy or radiotherapy resulting in an improvement in the patient’s quality of life.
