Advances in computer architecture and the related hardware components have notably enabled software developers to shift the focus from performance issues to usability issues, in other words towards the user. In this paper, we first give a brief presentation of the evolution of software development techniques for the implementation of user interfaces (UI). Then, we pedagogically document several modern user interface development best practices.
