Solid Pseudopapillary Neoplasm of the Pancreas: Radiological, Clinical, Histopathological and Prognostic Features of 5 Patients

Solid pseudopapillary neoplasms of pancreas are rare lesions, and classified as a borderline malignant tumor. They occur predominantly in females at younger age and have more favorable outcomes compared to other tumors of the pancreas. Patients may present with non-specific symptoms but the number of incidental cases has increased over the last decades as a result of intensive use of imaging modalities. They are mostly diagnosed via radiological imaging methods with their typical characteristic features. With surgery, unlike pancreatic adenocarcinomas, morbidity rates are lower and disease-free survival rates are above ninety percent. In this study, we aim to report clinical, histopathological and prognostic features of five SPN cases and review the current status of the literature.
