Methodology: This descriptive cross-sectional study included 275 students who were selected simply randomly. The survey was conducted from June to August 2021 in six junior high schools in Bima. Data collection used a questionnaire. Data analysis used univariate analysis for frequency distribution and bivariate analysis using the Chi Square test. Results: Most of the respondents were 12-13 years old. The number of male participants is more than female. Most of the study sample lived in rural areas (52.7%) and the higher percentage had received counseling on prevention of drug abuse (64.4%). Participants prefered health workers as implementers of preventive interventions to others (57.5%). Chi square test showed that the variables sex, place of residence, method and place of counseling had p<0.05.
