Lack of RGCC constrains expression of a set of thermogenic genes in brown and beige adipocytes. Conversely, ectopic expression of RGCC drives a full of program of thermogenesis and promotes browning. Pgc1α knockdown obviously prevents expression of RGCC-elicited thermogenic genes.
