After tissue damage occurs, a defensive reaction called tissue repair occurs. Aim; in this review; we aimed to present the effectiveness of low-energy fractional carbon dioxide laser therapy in treating hypertrophic scars following surgery. Summary: A safe & effective approach for treating hypertrophic burn scars is fractional ablative CO2 laser therapy. Even though more treatment sessions have been necessary for satisfying outcomes, a big improvement can be seen after just one round of therapy. Combination therapy with other modalities can decrease the need for repetition of therapy as efficacy increases.
