Intriguingly, the research illustrates how EDM machines can dynamically modify the values of registers within the collaborative robot, which acts as a server in this context. A conclusive case study has outlined the process of establishing communication infrastructure within the collaborative robot and showcased how it can implement and manage the necessary conditions for the manufacturing workflow. Through the use of existing industrial protocols, this research opens up fascinating possibilities regarding communication between collaborative robots and EDM machines. This could significantly reduce the complexity and costs associated with electrical I/O connections, enabling efficient transmission of multiple types of information between equipment using a single Ethernet cable.
