These encouraging results suggest the potential of these compounds as candidates for further development to prevent and/or treat Alzheimer's disease. In response, we study the efficacy of carnosic acid and related abietane-type diterpenes extracted from rosemary as acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitors.
