Increased risk for developmental disorders, infections, and challenges with nutrition and body temperature regulation require comprehensive measures in care.</p><p><strong>Aim: </strong>The aim of this guideline was to improve the care of premature and low-birth-weight infants through updated recommendations.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>The recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) have been implemented in this guideline in accordance with the WHO handbook for guideline development.
