Abstract

A new simple approach to studying pollution of water bodies with petroleum products: crude oil, boat oil, and diesel fuel, using multispectral cameras mounted on quadrocopters is presented. A laboratory experiment was carried out and the reflection spectra of sunlight from various types of pollution were analyzed. Expressions for the spectral brightness coefficient index are found. Field tests were carried out and the resulting relationships were verified for real conditions. The results of field tests showed that the proposed approach makes it possible to determine pollution in water bodies with sizes starting from 10 cm.
