Stress in young children can be associated with frightening changes in their lives – going to kindergarten, school. Treatment of mental disorders in childhood requires a comprehensive approach, including elimination of the causes of disorders, lifestyle modification, psychological and medical support. Phytotherapy is an effective treatment method accepted in most countries and characterized by a low risk of adverse events, which makes it indispensable in pediatric practice. The article describes the characteristics of medicinal plants used for the treatment of mental disorders. A review of clinical studies confirming the efficacy and safety of phytotherapy is presented.
