Background: The function of Acyl homoserine Lactone (AHL) as a communication system in oral biofilm formation by oral microorganisms is essential. A complete understanding of the role of AHL in oral microflora leads to new strategies for controlling biofilms and promoting oral health. The relationship between AHL and oral biofilm formation is not fully understood.
