Ultrasonographic examination revealed the presence of cystic lesions in the subcutaneous tissue in the wound bed and adjacent to the long digital extensor tendon.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Treatment involved surgical excision of the cysts, which resulted in a resolution of the self-mutilation episodes.
