[National registries related to human reproduction].
The paramount importance of women’s health, reproductive health and the well-being of their offspring underscores their status as top priorities in public health agendas. Infertility treatment, obstetric care and intensive management of high-risk newborns, which together determine the health outcomes of future generations and their effectiveness have significant demographic implications. Ensuring the effectiveness of the health system requires the implementation of modern, transparent methods of data collection and processing, as well as professional evaluation and analysis. More accurate and structured data collection and the integration of disparate registries into unified databases have been facilitated by recent advances in information technology. The establishment of the National In Vitro Fertilization, Obstetric and Perinatal Registry by linking the Human Reproduction Registry, the Tauffer–Csákány Statistics and the Peri- and Neonatal Registry is a crucial step towards the creation of a professional entity capable of providing comprehensive data management and evaluation services. Such a registry promises to provide one of the most detailed databases in Hungary, thereby improving the efficiency of the health system and serving as a fundamental element for its further development.
