Then we describe the combination of different modalities of virtual humans in the multimodal interaction design section. We also summarize the applications of intelli- gent virtual humans in the fields of education, healthcare, and work assistance. The final part of the paper discusses the remaining challenges and opportunities in virtual human interaction design, along with future directions in this field.
