Acetazolamide (ACT) was shown to catalyse the course of the electrode reaction (according to the cap-pair rule). The multi-step nature of the In(III) ions electroreduction process in each of the systems studied in the chemical step of formation of the active In(III) - ACT complexes in the adsorption layer playing an important role is demonstrated.
