Several strategies have been proposed to mitigate pan-reactivity in pre-transfusion indirect antiglobulin tests, such as the treatment of reagent RBCs with enzymes or reducing agents, allogeneic RBC adsorptions, and drug-specific neutralization assays. All of these have some kind of limitation.
