Stepwise multivariate logistic regression analysis was applied to identify the relevant predictors of functional outcome (favorable [mRS 1-2 points] versus unfavorable [mrS > = 3 points]).</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Of the 142 consecutively screened patients, 96 were included in the analysis. Of these, 33/96 (34%) were identified as having SDB and were more likely to have unfavorable mRS scores as compared to those without SDB (odds ratio = 2.70, p-value = 0.032).</p><p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>HRPO may be a low-cost and easily administered screening method to detect SDB among patients hospitalized for acute ischemic stroke.
