Cardiac Arrhythmias in Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension and Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension: Mechanistic Insights, Pathophysiology, and Outcomes

Arrhythmias are increasingly recognized as severe complications of precapillary pulmonary hypertension, encompassing pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH). Despite their significant contribution to symptoms, morbidity, in-hospital mortality, and potentially sudden death in PAH/CTEPH, there remains a lack of comprehensive data on epidemiology, pathophysiology, and outcomes to inform the management of these patients.
