Management focuses on eliminating infection, pain management, education, and preventing recurrence. The primary treatment of uncomplicated otitis externa is topical. Complicated presentations may require additional systemic therapy.</p><p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>History taking and physical examination can help differentiate among acute, chronic, and necrotizing otitis externa.
