Furthermore, a pancreatitis polygenic risk score has been developed and validated using data from the largest GWAS meta-analysis of acute pancreatitis published to date. In patients with severe HTG, a high polygenic susceptibility for pancreatitis was associated with a three-fold increased risk of acute pancreatitis compared with those with a lower polygenic risk score.</p><p><strong>Summary: </strong>In the past months, there have been substantial advances in understanding the prediction of acute pancreatitis in patients with severe HTG.
