Synthesis of benzosultams via Ag(I)-catalyzed alkylative cyclization of vinyl sulfonamides.
A convenient method to access benzo-fused-γ-sultams via alkyl radical induced cyclization of vinyl sulfonamides is presented. A wide range of carboxylic acids including sterically hindered adamantanes participated as alkyl donors in this Ag(I)-catalyzed decarboxylative alkylation.
