工业智能化升级是企业发展的内在要求，也是经济绿色转型的迫切需要。本研究从中国制造企业机器劳动力替代的角度，探讨环境规制与工业机器人采用之间的因果关系。利用部分线性函数系数模型，进一步揭示了资产规模在智能升级中的调节作用。研究发现，随着资本的不断深化，环境规制对工业机器人投资的影响由不显著转为显著。然而，异质性结果揭示了一个意想不到的结果，即这种影响在无污染企业中更为突出，而在环境治理更有针对性的污染企业中则更为突出。
