Stimulatory effect of platelet homogenate on collagen biosynthesis in L-929 cells
Confluent cultures of L-929 cells were incubated at 37 °C for 16 h in serum-free culture medium supplemented with ascorbic acid, β-aminopropionitrile and 53H-proline and the amount of collagen synthesized in such conditions was evaluated. It was found that addition of platelet homogenate to incubation medium causes significant increase of collagen biosynthesis by these cells.
