Relief of pain was evident 5 minutes after instillation and significant after 15 to 30 minutes. Serial photographs of the tympanic membrane demonstrated prompt improvement of inflammation. Congestion was significantly reduced after five minutes and overall ear drum color was significantly improved after 15 to 30 minutes. No adverse effects were recorded.
