This study assessed professional satisfaction of 80 doctors who responded to the 80--item multifaceted questionnaire. Although the doctors were generally satisfied with various facets of the jobs and career, variation in the level of satisfaction was noted. Personal background, revealed that 80% doctors had good academic and family background. The most satisfied group of doctors were the consultants with performance based pay scale. 30% of these consultants wanted to achieve professional excellence thus self actualizing. Overall satisfaction was moderately correlated to professional time and stress. Quality of life was moderately correlated to respect and income.
