It has been noted that the result could be improved using various layers, due to the contractions that occur proportionally to the quantity of material and the intensity of the curing light during polymerization. This article reviews the use of small, prepolymerized composite resin pearls or inserts compressed against the surface of the tooth wall to reduce the volume to be polymerized.
