Because geriatric patients have a slowed metabolism and delayed ability to eliminate drugs from their body, they become more sensitive to drug doses and may benefit from decreased drug quantities at increased intervals. When administering drugs to pregnant women, remember that every drug you give them will also be given to their fetus.
