The IMI Competition Awards is open to all IMI members professionally engaged in medical illustration and entries typically include photographic, graphic, ophthalmic and video submissions. The awards comprise of Gold, Silver and Bronze as well as a Platinum award, chosen from the Gold award winners. Additional awards include the Wellcome Award for the entry selected as most suitable for inclusion in the Wellcome Medical Library, and the Peter Kilshaw Student Award for the best entry from a student on a recognised course. Awards are presented to those entrants who, in the opinion of the judges, demonstrate the best use of their skills as medical illustrators, the application of design, the effective communication of information and their visual effectiveness.
