Eight mothers and one father participated in semi-structured interviews using a phenomenological approach. Themes and structural descriptions were developed. <b>Findings.</b> Five themes were identified: hopeful coping, occupational interference, changes in social constructs and participation, burdenful caregiving and receiving, and blending of occupations.
