Unemployment in the High-Pressure Capitalism of the 21st Century: Introduction

Abstract The transition from an industrial to knowledge economy created many stressors that exacerbated the excesses of four decades of neoliberal economic policies culminating in a high-pressure capitalism that is reducing the effectiveness of the social contract upon which its success was based in the first place.
